Blogger Award

I was quite shocked & pleasantly surprised to learn that Katie from Turning The Pages (now private) passed this award onto my journal! Wow! Someone actually reads it!

According to the Rules of the Award, I have to pass the Award on to 5 other girls whose blogs I read and enjoy.  And they, in turn, pass it on to 5 girls blogs that they enjoy.

Only 5!  But there are so many! Here is goes:

Indigo -  Raven's Lament -  who must thousands of these already, but who has always been supportive & understanding to me.

Brittany - Juicy Apple Designs - for the incredible graphic tags she makes for everyone!

Dawn -  Carpe Diem - Seize the Day - who has a lot on her plate, yet remains a verystrong & supportive to everyone else.

Kathy - Yadayadayada (private, also has a public journal A Little Left of Center) - who has been with me since the beginning & has such a lovely journal herself!

Deb - Frosty Thoughts - who always has time to read my journals & provides me with stories of what life is like from across the country.

Thank you Katie!

Weekend Assignment #173: Share a Joke (redone)

Weekend Assignment #173: Share a joke. Make it funny. Also, since I'll want to link back to them, and I am, after all, but a cog in the great AOL machine, keep it reasonably clean and free of ethnic/sexual put-downs. You know. http://journals.aol.com/johnmscalzi/bytheway

(I posted this one a couple of months ago, but it is still one of my favorites!)

Italian Anniversary

At the church's husband's marriage seminar, the Priest asked Luigi, on his upcoming 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he managed to stay married to the same woman all these years.

Luigi replied to the audience "Well, I'v-a tried to treat-a her well, spend-a the money on her, but-a, da best-a is-a dat I took her to Italy for the 20th-a anniversary!

The Priest immediately commented, "Luigi, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell the audience what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary..."
.............Luigi proudly replied, "I'm-a gonna go and-a get her."

As emailed to me! Thought it was funny & cute!

Best line....

I heard the best line from a client last week talking about someone who apparently was very mean & a little psychotic....

"She's so mean she is definitely going to Heaven cause the Devil sure doesn't want her!"

I was told that is an old line but I never heard it before!
